DESCRIPTION

Universal Hand Held Deprimer
by HARVEY DEPRIMER

Product Overview:

The Harvey Deprimer is portable and controls the ejection of the primer, allowing you to deprime while sitting down somewhere comfortable. No attachments, accessories, dies, or shell holders needed to catch spent primers. Freedom from the reloading bench. Deprime and sort cases anywhere. Machined from 6061 grade aluminum with a black anodized finish. The Harvey Deprimer works well with any pistol and rifle round from a 9mm to a 408 CheyTac. Depriming facilitates a clean reload. Grit and grime from your pocket fall into your press when cases are not deprimed before cleaning. This is why your press needs cleaning after reloading. New primers seat properly with a clean primer pocket.

Specifications:

  • Comes with .06" and .07" hardened steel depriming pins.
  • Will deprime cases with crimped primer pockets. (.07" pin)
  • Will deprime cases with a narrow flash hole. (.06" pin)
  • Only 5" long and 11oz.

Best New Reloading Tool!

I recently received my new Harvey Deprimer, "#sweepstakes". I grabbed a mixed box of cases and began to play with my new toy. At first it was very frustrating to line up the decapping pin with the primer hole, but once in, the lever was easy to push, even with my arthritic hands, and the primer popped right out, but the process was slow and tedious, not acceptable! After 56 years of reloading, I knew there had to be a better way to line up the cases, The first thing that came to mind was my RCBS primer pocket reamer tool and the caliber specific pilots that slide on the spindle and lock in place. I grabbed the 35 caliber pilot and adjusted it for a 9mm case, then 38spl, 357mag and then 380acp all worked without a problem. The 45 caliber pilot worked great for 45acp and 45LC and the 30 caliber was as smooth as silk for 30-06 and 308 cases. I'm ordering seven more pilots to fill in the gaps (by the way Midsouth, as usual, has the lowest prices on these pilots). With or without the pilots the product functions flawlessly and allows you to decap much quicker than you can using a press. Once deprimed you can clean the primer pocket, deburr the flash hole, trim and chamfer the case and vibrate or tumble it before using your press to complete the loading process, which will save a lot of time, especially with handgun cases.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I purchased a Harvey Hand Held Deprimer direct from the inventor several years ago. I've never regretted that decision. I haven't had to clean my presses near as often. I decap the fired brass and then clean the brass so none of that dirt gets into the press. I can heartily recommend the Harvey Hand Held Deprimer.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
