Midsouth offers the M16 A1 20" with Extension 5.56 Phosphate Finished, 1-12 Twist barrel. This M16A1 barrel is an exact duplicate of the original. This 20" barrel can be used as a replacement on either an M16A1 or on an AR15 project that closely mimics one. The 20" Phosphate barrel is not cut of the front sight gas block pins so it can be used with a low profile gas block as well. The barrel is threaded 1/2"x28TPI and will accept most aftermarket and Mil Spec muzzle devices. The Barrel Extension has been expertly installed by Green Mountain. The 1:12 twist rate is perfect for the original 55gr FMJ 223 or 5.56 ammunition. The M16A1 20" barrel has the correct profile and will only accept .625 block or Front Sights.
