I mounted this scope on my 6.8 SPC AR rifle to use as a wild hog hunter. This this was perfect for that setup. Zeroed at 100 yds and shots a nice tight group at 250 yds. I would like to get out to a further range see what it can do. Zero has held well over several outings with some rough handling on my part.

This is an incomplete review, as I have not done any shooting with my new scope. However, right out of the box the build quality is unbelievable. This thing is built like a bank vault. The turrets all have a scalloped texture that is very tactile and would lend itself well to adjusting with gloves on. The locking feature on the scope is perfect and easy to feel. Additionally, the turrets all have very positive adjustments that allow you to know how much youre putting into a given adjustment. The scope zooms smoothly and the reticle is perfect for my uses. The illumination feature is also awesome. Very subtle if you want it to be, but bright enough to serve in very bright conditions on its lowest zoom. As far as the clarity goes, this scope is on par with any night force or khales Ive looked through. The fact this scope is at the price point it's at makes it a tremendous value. This definitely wont be my last Steiner scope. I will write another, more complete review when I have about 1000 rounds through it.

Not much needs to be said about Vortex optics. They put out rock solid equipment and optics for every level of shooter. The Diamondback tactical it the perfect scope for the hunting I do. I use it mainly for whitetail and coyote hunting. Wooded terrain as well as field hunting. The external turrets make it fast to zero and easy to dial in the longe range shots. Great scope for a great price!

I have used the optic for various situations. Whether hunting whitetail in the east coast woods, or reaching out and touching steel plates at distance, this optic by vortex has done the job flawlessly. Best part is this optic is budget friendly and is great for those looking to begin their shooting hobby. Vortex has definitely hit the mark with the Diamondback Tactical 4-12x40.

Bought for elk hunting. No luck on the hunt but vortex optics were perfect for the budget. Great glass, clarity and adjustability. Another fantastic product by vortex!

First, I love vortex scopes. This one however seems like im looking down a narrow hallway. I think my kids 32mm scope has a wider range of view than this 44mm. Bought it for longer range shooting. I think i will be buying a different one and using this on a smaller gun. Beginner/intrmediate
